Retreat House

Hemlock Cottage
This past weekend I took a weekend car trip from Ohio to visit Lake Logan, the site of our retreat in May. I stayed at Hemlock cottage where some of our Retreat guests will be staying. It was so comfortable, I wished I had more time to stay and enjoy it. Hemlock has a huge comfortable lounging area, a covered porch with rocking chairs, and a full kitchen with all the comforts of home (even coffee and tea available to make, complete with coffee maker).

Glenn Barnett, Environmental Program Director for Lake Logan, showed me around Lake Logan and I was able to tour the Retreat House as well. Although I had the image wrong on my brochures for this house, nobody will be disappointed. The place is a rustic mansion with all the inside comforts of a suburban home, and almost every room has its own large private bathroom. Pretty incredible.

The Dining Hall is equally comfortable and luxurious. My husband and I sampled the buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner, all of which were wonderful. Vegetarian dishes are always available, and delicious as well (I loved the stuffed squash I had for dinner as a side).
It was a wonderful stay at Lake Logan Episcopal Center. This place might have the most hospitable people running it that I’ve ever met. I am so grateful for the accommodations they made for my own short visit. God bless this place!
